Local Business Spotlight: The Haitian American Museum of Chicago in Uptown, Chicago
Posted by Dominic Irpino on April 8, 2021
IRPINO Real Estate Presents our Local Business Spotlight series featuring local businesses in Chicago’s Uptown and Buena Park neighborhoods.
A Hub for Haitian Culture in Uptown, Chicago
One of our favorite things about Uptown is how diverse the neighborhood is. There are many cultures represented here and many languages spoken. So when Elsie Hernandez opened the Haitian American Museum of Chicago (HAMOC) at 4654 Racine Avenue in 2012, Uptown welcomed them with open arms. This month we had the privilege to meet with Carlos Bossard, the Executive Director at HAMOC to learn more about their museum and how the work to uplift, celebrate and promote the Haitian culture and history. Watch our video below to learn more.
Special thanks to our partner QHI Media for helping with all our video needs.
