Buena Park was founded by real estate businessman James Waller in 1890. James built a large home for his family on the North Side of Chicago known as Buena House, and developed the surrounding area into what is known today as the Buena Park neighborhood. The historically significant architecture in the neighborhood landed Buena Park on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984 due mainly to the Hutchinson Street Historic District, a tree-lined stretch featuring mansions featuring some of the best Prairie-style architecture in the city.
Founded in 1997, Buena Park Neighbors is the local neighborhood organization and one of the most active neighborhood groups in the city. IRPINO Real Estate has been a long-time supporter of the organization. Each year we sponsor and host the Buena Park Neighbors Summer Event at the Corinthian Yacht Club on Lake Michigan’s Montrose Harbor.
IRPINO Real Estate’s Local Business Spotlight video series spotlights some of our favorite local spots including this one featuring North Buena Wine and Deli.
