The World’s First Vegan Jewish Deli in Chicago’s Uptown
With everything going on in Chicago and the world at the moment, we thought we could all use a little light and a little laugh right about now. Last month, we recorded our latest Local Business Spotlight video interview with Sam & Gertie’s, the world’s first Vegan Jewish Deli, right here in Uptown. Although they may not be open for dining at the moment, they are still open for take-out and delivery 9am – 2pm Friday through Sunday. Order online here!

Sam & Gertie’s
In March, we had the pleasure of visiting one of Uptown’s newest and most note-worthy businesses, Sam & Gertie’s Vegan Jewish Deli (1309 W Wilson). We sat down with owner Andy Kalish to talk about the importance of plant based food on both the environment and our bodies and what inspired him to combine the plant based diet with traditional Jewish deli food. Watch the full video at the link below to learn more about their deli and order some take out this weekend! Trust us, we sampled many of the menu items and you won’t be disappointed!
